Commutiny - The Youth Collective
A group of likeminded people from several development organizations and educational institutions who believe passionately in the power of young people to envision the future and act in the present to influence social change together to form COMMUTINY - THE YOUTH COLLECTIVE.
We believe
In India, a growing democracy with a complex and diverse society, the challenge before us it to ensure that the huge cohort of youth becomes a vibrant, constructive force that shapes a more just, equitable and non violent world.
This can happen when
· We invest suitably in the development of youth in all spheres such that they are able to take on different roles along their life cycle with commitment and link to the world and deliver their responsibility as better students, lovers, workers, parents, entrepreneurs, community leaders, role models, change agents.
· We make young people equal stakeholders in determining how youth development needs to be defined in today’s globalised world.
· We acknowledge that youth development cannot be looked at in isolation from the larger social issues that surround young people and contribute majorly in shaping their identity
